TWO DAY TECHNICAL MEETING BETWEEN MANAGEMENT, ZONAL CO-ORDINATORS AND HEADS OF OPERATIONAL OFFICES

The Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) on 11^th of February, 2021 began a Two-Day Technical Meeting and Training between Management, Zonal Coordinators and Heads of Operational Offices.

The Meeting was aimed at reviewing the activities at the Zonal and state Offices especially in the area of enforcement and the challenges encountered on the field in the past one year.

The DG/CEO, Dr. Yau Idris commended the quality of enforcement carried out in the last one year despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. He encouraged participants to pay close attention to the issues raised in the different presentations and ensure that all hands are on deck to make the Authority a leading Government regulatory body in Nigeria.

He charged the Zonal Officers to ensure that facilities in their regions are brought under regulatory control of the Authority so that lives and the environment are protected from the harmful effects of ionizing radiation.

In attendance at the meeting were all Management staff of the Authority, Zonal Coordinators from North-West, North-East, South-West, South-South and North-Central Zonal Offices. Heads of Operational Offices from Ogun, Kwara, Kano and Borno were also in attendance.
