Head, Medical Application Safety

 

Mrs. Fatima Ige is an indigene of Kwara State. She attended Local Education Authority Primary School. Kaduna, Kaduna State and Olalomi Comprehensive College, Offa. Kwara State.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria, She has a Master’s Degree in Pharmacology from the same university

She was a lecturer at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, before leaving to join the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority In September 2004 as a Senior Regulatory Officer.

Her schedule with the Authority has been to carry out Safety/Audit inspections of various practices. She is particularly more involved in regulating medical practices. She is also involved in the development of Authorization requirements and safety guides for licensing various practices. She rose through the ranks to become a Deputy General Manager.

She has attended several Training Courses, Workshops, Conferences and Fellowships in Radiation Protection and Safety and Nuclear Security

She was the Nigerian IAEA Project Counterpart for the Regional Project for Africa - RAF 9059 (Strengthening Member State Technical Capabilities in Medical Radiation Protection in Compliance with Requirement of the New Basic Safety Standard:2017 – 2019

She is currently the Nigerian IAEA Project Counterpart for the African Regional Project RAF 9064 (Improving the Capabilities of Member State in Radiation Protection of Patients).
