THE WOMEN IN NUCLEAR- NIGERIA PAY COURTESY CALL TO THE NNRA

The Women in Nuclear- Nigeria (WiN-Nigeria) paid a courtesy call to the Management of the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) on Tuesday 4th February, 2020 at the Headquarters in Abuja. The visit is to seek support for the upcoming inaugural launch of the WiN-Nigeria chapter which has become imperative to establish in order to realize her objectives.

Ms. Chigoziri Oge Nwakanma, the interim president of WiN-Nigeria appreciated the Acting DG/CEO and his Management staff for accepting to receive their delegation. She said the visit was to intimate the Honorable Minister of State for Petroleum ably represented by the Acting Director General/CEO of the NNRA; Dr. Yau Idris-Usman on the vision & mission of the WiN-Nigeria and seek support for the upcoming inaugural launch of the chapter.

She added that Women in Nuclear- Nigeria with about 200 registered Nigerian members, is a worldwide network of female professionals working in various fields of nuclear energy and radiation applications thereby providing a forum for networking and raising awareness about the benefits, security and safety nuclear and radiation applications and practices.

The Acting Director General/CEO, Dr. Yau Idris-Usman stated in his response that he will make his submissions to the Honorable Minister of State for Petroleum on their visit and inform him of the upcoming proposed activities of the WiN-Nigeria.

He expressed his delight at the gathering of women under the nuclear umbrella as women were essential to educating a nation. He assured WiN-Nigeria of the NNRA’s support for the launch scheduled to take place later in the year.

The visit was attended by the DG/CEO and management staff and members of the Women in Nuclear-Nigeria.
