THE PRS DIVISION: DRIVING STRATEGIC GROWTH AND PERFORMANCE

At the NNRA weekly in-house seminar, Mrs. Ogechukwu Osuji, Assistant General Manager, Planning, Research, and Statistics (PRS) a division of the Department of Administration and Human Resources, delivered an insightful presentation on the Division’s structure, achievements, and strategic contributions to the Authority’s mission.

Mrs. Osuji explained that the PRS Division, established following the 1988 Civil Service Reforms, serves as the NNRA’s central hub for strategic planning, data management, and performance enhancement. The Division is responsible for formulating and monitoring short, medium, and long-term development plans, overseeing capital projects, compiling annual reports, and implementing the Performance Management System (PMS). Through these efforts, the Division ensures that the organizational objectives are effectively aligned with employee performance to drive efficiency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Among the Division’s key achievements, Mrs. Osuji highlighted its participation in the National Development Plan Committee, coordination of NNRA’s performance scorecards, and collaboration with the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission on productivity improvement trainings. She also acknowledged persistent challenges, including limited manpower, funding constraints, and overlaps in functional roles.

The session concluded with strategic recommendations such as strengthening staffing levels, ensuring adequate funding for PMS implementation, and enhancing collaboration among departments. Participants unanimously agreed that the PRS Division remains pivotal to NNRA’s evidence-based planning, policy formulation, and the efficient delivery of its regulatory mandate.
