THE NIGERIAN ASSOCIATION OF RADIOGRAPHY STUDENTS (NARS) PAYS A COURTESY VISIT TO NNRA

The Executive Officers of the Nigerian Association of Radiography Students on 10th May, 2022 paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) at its Headquarters, Abuja and were received by the Management and some Staff of the Authority.

The visit was necessitated by an earlier visit by the Association to NNRA in March, 2022. The purpose of this meeting was to officially introduce the Association’s Liaison Officer to the Authority so as to bridge communication gap and thus facilitate more engagement and interaction between the student body and the Authority.

The NARS President Mr. Aliyu Muhammad thanked the DG and his team for a warm reception and stated that the visit was to seek more collaboration with NNRA and to ensure greater synergy between the Association and the Authority. He thereafter officially appointed the DG as the chairman of the upcoming NARS National Convention.

The DG/CEO Dr. Yau Idris, in his remark outlined the overall functions of the NNRA, which includes but not limited to regulating equipment and materials that are capable of emitting ionizing radiation in Nigeria; thereby protecting lives, properties and the environment from the harmful effects of ionizing radiation.

He accepted the invitation and advised the students to take their studies serious. He reiterated the Authority’s commitment to support and mentor the students in their chosen fields.

The DG, Dr Yau Idris was thereafter honored with the award of patronship by the association in recognition of his selfless service to the NARS and the country at large.
