First Aid in work place is a major but neglected public health challenge that requires concerted efforts for effective and sustainable prevention of causalities even at work places. Employees are often times faced with a variety of medical emergencies and stress related issues at work places.
It is to this end that the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) in collaboration with Red Cross Society of Nigeria (Red Cross) initiated a weeklong training for the entire Staff of the Authority. The training began on the 3rd February, 2020 at the NNRA Headquarters in Abuja.
The objective of the training is to give NNRA employees the necessary tools and information needed to care for any casualty especially at work place until professional medical help arrives.
The training was divided into theory and practical sessions to ensure staff optimal participation. Demonstrations were also carried out by staff in staged live scenarios to illustrate how First Aid can be administered. The weeklong program is scheduled to end on Friday 7th February 2020.
