NNRA TRAINS YOUTHS ON VARIOUS PETROLEUM ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY

The Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) organized a training programme for youths on the various Petroleum Engineering Technologies with emphasis on Nuclear Technology from 28^th to 31^st December 2020 in the North Central Geopolitical zone of the country. The training took place in Kano, Kaduna, and Birnin Kebbi.

The Training was in line with the current administration’s recognition of the important role youths play in national development. The National Youth Policy 2019 states that an enabling environment must be created for youths to maximally realize their creative and productive potentials. This training targeted young scientists, engineers and related discipline graduates from the North-West geopolitical zone of the country who aspire to pursue careers in various petroleum engineering professions with emphasis on nuclear technology.

The Training workshop was conducted using standard training materials developed by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority. It exposed participants to the various opportunities that exist in the Oil and Gas Industry through the application of Nuclear Technology to enable them realize their potentials and build their application of nuclear technology in the Oil and Gas Industry.
