NNRA TRAINS RADIATION SAFETY OFFICERS IN NIRPR, IBADAN

National Training Course for Radiation Safety Officers in Nucleonic Gauging Equipment, Well Logging, Waste Management and Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials (NORM) is currently holding from 9^th -13^th October, 2023 at the National Institute of Radiation Protection and Research, University of Ibadan, Nigeria.

The objective of the training is to help Radiation Safety Officers in field of Nucleonic Gauging Equipment, Well Logging, Waste Management and NORM acquire adequate competence to carry out their responsibilities and duties safely thus, contributing to the safe use of ionizing radiation in Nigeria. 

Radiation Safety Officers and intending Radiation Safety Officers designated by their employees are attending the training both virtually and on-site. Several topics will be treated, among them are; Basic Nuclear Physics Radioactivity, Operational protection against radiation protection, Workplace Monitoring, Nucleonic Gauging Equipment, Well Logging, Waste Management, NORM Facilities and many more relevant topics.

The National Institute of Radiation Protection and Research, is the technical support arm of the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority saddled with the responsibility of Radiation Protection, Nuclear Safety and Security in Nigeria.
