NNRA TEAM MEETS WITH THE JIGAWA STATE GOVERNMENT ON ITS ACTIVITIES IN JIGAWA STATE

As a follow up to the official visit of the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar MNI, MON, to the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority to seek for possible partnership and collaboration, a technical team was invited to Dutse, the Jigawa State Capital between 7^th and 10^th March, 2022 to meet with the Jigawa State Government Officials and chart ways for sustainable development.

The NNRA team was received by the Deputy Governor Alhaji Umar Namadi who stood in for the Governor who was attending to other national assignments outside Jigawa State. Other State Government Officials present at the meeting include the Commissioner of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Agriculture and other heads of state government agencies.

The discussions centered on:

✔        Radiological Survey of the State

✔        Mineral profiling

✔        Regulating X-Ray Centers and the possibility of establishing a radiotherapy centre with their regulatory requirements.

NNRA was represented at the meeting by: Farouq Abdulrasheed Ingawa -DGM Radiological Safety, Engr. Dr Nasiru Zakariya -DGM Project Management Office, Abdullahi Sale Na’Allah -Head, NNRA Kano Operational Office, and Muhammad Tukur Murtala -Special Assistant to the DG/CEO NNRA.
