NNRA-SSZO PAYS COURTESY VISITS TO LA SIEN BOTTLING COMPANY IN PORT HARCOURT

A delegation from the South-South Zonal Office (SSZO) of NNRA led by the Zonal Coordinator Mrs. Evelyn Vincent-Furo visited La Sien Bottling Company Limited in Port Harcourt on 21^st May, 2024. The delegation was received by Mr. Tosin Adeleye, Assistant General Manager on behalf of the company.

The visit was aimed at strengthening the relationship between the NNRA and La Sien Bottling Company Limited in order to achieve the desired goal of ensuring best practices in the uses of nuclear and radioactive sources. The delegation requested for collaboration with the company in the areas of internship opportunities at La Sien, to enable young NNRA Officers observe and learn the processes and application of nuclear gauges in practicality.

Mrs. Furo urged La Sien company  to send their officers for Radiation Safety Officer(RSO) training which is due in August 2024 at the National Institute of Radiation Protection and Research (NIRPR) and ensure they pay their authorization fees as at when due to avoid enforcement actions against the company by the Authority.  

The team also made unscheduled visits to Save a Life Hospital, Saint Martin Hospital, Georges Diagnostics Centre and Intercontinental Diagnostics Centre to follow up with their activities, Authorization processes and ensure that all pending issues were resolved amicably.
