NNRA PARTNERS ABUCONS, AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY, ZARIA FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The Director General/CEO, Dr. Yau Idris represented by the General Manager, Radiological Services, Dr. Isa Sambo led a delegation of the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority committee to work with ABUCONS to the head office of ABUCONS, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria on Wednesday, 2^nd June 2021 for the inauguration of the ABUCONS committee to work mutually with Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority for sustainable national development.

The inaugural meeting hosted by ABUCONS led by the Managing Director, Dr. Umar Farouk Yaya and his team of directors discussed areas of mutual collaboration and cooperation in the best interest of both organizations through boosts of revenue generation, staff capacity building, research and development, while ensuring NNRA’s mandate of protection of the environment from harmful effects of ionizing radiation.

The meeting centered majorly on:

• Jointly carrying out research and development for national development
• Training, capacity building and refresher courses
• Developing Term of Reference to strengthen and expand the partnership through mounting courses and programmes with Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria
• Boosting revenue generation activities of both organizations
• Having a formal memorandum of understanding for mutual cooperation and partnership to the interest of both parties
