The Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) participated at the 5th Nigerian International Energy Summit (NIES) organized by the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources from 27th February – 3rd March, 2022 at the International conference Centre (ICC), Abuja. The NNRA also had its exhibition booth where it showcased its products and services.
The NIES is a platform where the world met and interacted with Nigeria's Oil and Gas industry players and provided exhibitors with an avenue to present new technologies and meet potential investors. The summit was targeted at key Nigerian political decision-makers, directors, relevant governmental bodies, stakeholders, officials, and specialists from the petroleum industry. The summit also featured conferences, seminars, exhibitions, discussion and awards.
This year’s NIES, themed “Revitalizing the Industry: Future and Energy Transition” aimed to drive a new narrative and make energy transition the cornerstone of the country’s industry policy in a socio-economic sense.
Three staff of the Authority were conferred with awards by the Ministry of Petroleum for worthy of 2019 -2021 ministry of petroleum resources and its agencies outstanding performances in margins summit. The awardees were Dr. Godwin Bassey Ekong (Deputy Manager Radiological Safety), Mr. Mfon Charles Ebong (Assistant Manager Authorization and Enforcement) and Mr. Lukman Abdulrauf (Senior Regulatory Officer Nuclear Safety, Physical Security and Safeguards).
