NNRA PARLEYS WITH HONOURABLE COMMISIONER OF POLICE ENUGU

Officials of the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) South East Zonal Office visited Enugu State Commissioner of Police (CP) on 17^th March, 2022 at the Police Headquarter.

The visit centered on strengthening the existing working relationship between the NNRA and the police force in Enugu State and to intimate the newly appointed Commissioner on the mandate of the NNRA

The Zonal Coordinator, Mr. Charles Ajaero while addressing the CP submitted that the NNRA’s responsibility is to ensure maximum protection of citizen’s life, health, and the environment from the harmful effects of ionizing radiation in the country. He affirmed the existing working relationship between NNRA and the Police in the area of locating radioactive sources in the State.

In response, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Lawal Abubakar Daura expressed delight on the visit to the police command. He said that the NNRA plays a strategic role in the society and looks forward to a fruitful partnership that will be of great benefit to both parties and the citizens in general.

He solicited for more coorperation between the two organizations in order to achieve the Authority’s mandate in the area of enforcement.
