NNRA OGUN STATE OPERATIONAL OFFICE CARRIED OUT AN ENFORCEMENT ACTION.

NNRA inspectors led by the Ogun State Operational Head, Mrs Ajani Abimbola, visited Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital Radiology Facility, Sagamu (OOUTHRF) on 15^th March, 2022 to carry out an enforcement action.

The enforcement action was necessary owing to the inspectors numerous visits to the OOUTHRF to register its premises with the NNRA and the advice given to them on 27^th September, 2021 during a compliance inspection to apply for Authorizations for safety and smooth operations of the facility which the facility did not adhere to.

On 15^th March, 2022 the facility was sealed up by the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) and instructed to discontinue operation until all regulatory requirements are met in accordance to the Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection Act (1995), the Nigerian Basic Ionizing Radiation Regulation (2003), the Nigerian Radiation Safety in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Regulation (2006), which are guides to ensure safety of all radioactive materials in the country.
