NNRA MEETS WITH THE NEWLY APPOINTED KASTINA STATE COMMISSIONER OF HEALTH

The North-West Zonal Office (NWZO) of the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) Kastina, visited the newly appointed Honorable Commissioner of Health for Katsina State, Dr. Yakubu Nuhu on 7^th October, 2021.

The meeting centered on briefing the Hon. Commissioner on the activities of the NNRA in the state, especially the authorization status of government facilities and the expected roles of government in ensuring compliance in such facilities, thereby enhancing the protection of life, health, property and the environment from the effect of ionizing radiation.

The State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Nuhu, commended the efforts of the NNRA in ensuring radiological protection and nuclear safety and assured the Authority of his support in ensuring that facilities comply with regulatory requirements in order to promote safety culture in the state.  

The NNRA delegation was led by the Acting Zonal Coordinator, Engr. Mohammed Shagari.
