NNRA KWARA OPERATIONAL OFFICE CONDUCTS COMPLIANCE AND PRE-AUTHORIZATION INSPECTION

Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) is committed to ensuring safe application of all apparatus that emits ionizing radiation, thereby protecting life, health, property and the environment from the harmful effects of ionizing radiation. To further accomplish this mandate, Kwara Operational Office of the NNRA carried out compliance and pre-authorization inspection from 14^th to 21^st February,2022 on the under listed diagnostic facilities in Kogi and Kwara states respectively.

• Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja
• St. John’s Hospital, Kabba
• Pentalcare Hospital, Ilorin

The inspection was carried out to ascertain the level of compliance of the visited facilities in line with requirement of the Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection Act(Act19 of 1995); the Nigerian Basic- Ionizing Radiation Regulation2003(NiBRR) and the Nigerian Radiation Safety in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Regulation 2006. It was also to ensure that deficiencies and deviations identified in the process were corrected without delay.

The NNRA team of Inspectors was led by the State Coordinator of Kwara State Operational Office, Mr. S. T Olasinde.
