NNRA INSPECTION TEAM VISIT AT ASI UKPO COMPREHENSIVE CANCER CENTRE, CALABAR

A team of NNRA Inspectors lead by the General Manager Radiological Safety Department Dr. Isa Sambo (fsi) visited Asi Ukpo Comprehensive Cancer Centre (AUCCC) Calabar for a Preauthorization Inspection from 14^th – 15^th March, 2022.

AUCCC is a Radiotherapy facility designed and constructed for an External Beam Radiotherapy (EBRT) with Linear Accelerator, and High Dose Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy. The NNRA has successfully granted AUCCC licenses for the radiotherapy design & construction, and equipment importation. The Preauthorization inspection by the NNRA team will enable the NNRA to grant AUCC a Commissioning and Operational Licenses for the installed radiotherapy equipment, which will ensure that the radiotherapy facility is ready for clinical operation, and is safe for the patients, health professionals and the general public.
