NNRA Inaugurates a Committee responsible for upholding the provisions of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act in the Authority

In a significant move at the NNRA Headquarters in Abuja, the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) inaugurated the committee responsible for upholding the provisions of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act of 2011 at the Authority’s Headquarters, in Abuja.

The FOI Act aims to ensure the availability of information to the public, granting access to vital records and information.

Representing the Director General/CEO of NNRA, Dr Yau Idris, Mr. Mathias Vyonku, General Manager of the Admin and Human Resources Department, emphasized NNRA's unwavering commitment to safeguarding life, health, and the environment from the detrimental effects of ionizing radiation, making adherence to the Act imperative.

He congratulated the committee members, wishing them success in their new roles.

While congratulating members of the committee, the representative of the Federal Ministry of Justice, Barrister Adeyinka Hamza, commended the committee and urged them to diligently serve NNRA and educate staff on the expectations of the public as regards freedom of information.
