NNRA HOSTS OPTS ENVIRONMENTAL AND SAFETY SUBCOMMITTEE

The NNRA today hosted members of the Environmental and Safety Subcommittee of the Oil Producers Trade Section (OPTS) of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Authority’s headquarters in Abuja.

The meeting provided a platform for both institutions to deepen collaboration in areas of mutual interest, particularly the timely issuance of authorisations and sustained engagement with industry stakeholders in the formulation of policies and regulations guiding the safe utilisation of radioactive sources in the oil and gas upstream sector.

The OPTS delegation was led by Braide Opakirite of TotalEnergies Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited.

NNRA reiterated its commitment to continue working closely with operators in the oil and gas industry to promote regulatory compliance, protect workers, the public, and the environment, and ensure the responsible use of radioactive materials in Nigeria.
