NNRA HOSTED THE MINISTRY OF PETROLEUM RESOURCES 17TH MINISTERIAL SERVICOM NETWORKING QUARTERLY MEETING

The Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) hosted the Ministry of Petroleum Resources 17th Ministerial SERVICOM Networking Quarterly Meeting on 13^th September, 2022 in Abuja, Nigeria.

Declaring the meeting open, the DG/CEO Dr. Yau Idris who was the host of the event gave a brief on the establishment and mandate of NNRA which is primarily to ensure nuclear safety and radiological regulation in the country. He enumerated the core functions of the Authority which are; radiation protection of workers, patients and the public; safety and security of radioactive sources; safeguards of nuclear materials and the physical protection of installations in Nigeria. He commended the forum for its effort in ensuring values and exceptional services are delivered to clients and reiterated NNRA management’s commitment to the Ministerial SERVICOM Agenda and to the betterment of the nation.

The DG applauded the good work of the NNRA SERVICOM Unit and acknowledged the impact they have put to ensure efficient service delivery to the various stakeholders of the Authority.

SERVICOM is an initiative of the Federal Government of Nigeria conceived to promote effective and efficient service delivery in MDAs.  It is also to ensure customer satisfaction and to manage the performance expectation gap between government and citizens as well as other members of the public, on issues of Service delivery. SERVICOM operates through a network of Ministerial SERVICOM Units (MSUs) established in all MDAs to refocus every institution in the Public Service towards better Service delivery and supports these MSUs to put up Service Charters, establish Complaints Systems at service front-lines as well as develop Service Improvement Plans.

The DG was thereafter, decorated with SERVICOM badge by the representative of the SERVICOM DG, Mrs. Lucy Zack-Ukoh and was presented with other notable souvenirs as a mark of honor and appreciation for the enormous support he has given to SERVICOM.

In attendance were; the  Ministerial Nodal Officer, SERVICOM; the National SERVICOM Officers; NNRA Management Staff; Focal Officers from Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA); Ministry of Petroleum Staff; NNRA SERVICOM Unit and Members of the Press.
