NNRA HOLDS WORKSHOP ON INCREASED CAPACITY AND CAPABILITIES

The EU-INSC project "European Union Increased Capacity and Capability" workshop of the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA), Workshop 1 held from 6th to 10th February 2024, in Abuja.

This workshop, the first in its series focuses on knowledge and experience sharing regarding the Integrated Management System (IMS). The primary objective is to assist the NNRA in developing its IMS to align with the requirements of the IAEA GSR Part 2 and ISO 9001:2015 standards, in preparation for a third-party audit.

During the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn from the EU experts and gain valuable insights and experiences in IMS implementation.

The DG/CEO extended his gratitude to the experts and assured them of the NNRA's full cooperation in ensuring the success of the project. He stated that he hoped the workshop would facilitate constructive feedback on the questionnaires earlier sent to the experts on the NNRA IMS, thereby leading to effective solutions to address any identified gaps.

The head of the visiting team, Mr. Ivan Lux from ENCO gave an overview of the various topics and areas the workshop would concentrate on and hoped that the IMS knowledge and experience sharing will identify and analyze the gaps identified in the NNRA IMS. He acknowledged the online resource persons and thanked them for their contributions.

Participants for the workshop were drawn from Staff of the various departments, units, and zones of the NNRA.
