NNRA BECOMES MEMBER OF IAEA/ WHO SSDL NETWORK

The National Institute of Research and Radiation Protection (NIRPR), the technical support arm of the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority has become a member of the IAEA/ WHO SSDL Network.

The notification for membership was sent to the Acting Director General of NNRA, Dr. Yau Idris recently by Ms. Paula Toro of the Dosimetry and Medical Radiation Physics section of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The IAEA/WHO Network of SSDL was created in 1976 with the main purpose of maintaining the link between the users of radiation and the primary measurement standards to ensure dosimeter calibration.
