NNRA ATTENDS THE 3RD INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON OCCUPATIONAL RADIATION PROTECTION

A Team of radiation protection experts from the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) were invited and sponsored by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to attend the 3rd International Conference on Occupational Radiation Protection: Strengthening Radiation Protection of Workers­­–Twenty Years of Progress and the Way Forward, taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, 5th - 9th September, 2022.

The team led by Dr. Yau Idris, DG/CEO, NNRA, included Dr Isa Sambo, General Manager and Head Radiological Safety Department and Dr Godwin Ekong, Head of Public Exposure and Environmental Safety Division,  NNRA.

Dr Yau Idris will speak at the Closing Ceremony Round-table on “Regional Challenges in Implementing Occupational Radiation Protection in Africa” in his capacity as the Acting Chairman of the Forum of Nuclear Regulatory Bodies in Africa (FNRBA) and Chairman of the African Commission on Nuclear Energy (AFCONE).

The NNRA made a Presentation on "Monitoring and Dose Assessment of ORP Exposure-The Nigerian Perspectives on the first day of the Conference.

The Conference is organized by the IAEA, hosted by the Government of Switzerland and co-sponsored by the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
