NNRA ATTENDS THE 16TH EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT COURSE (EIMC)

The 16th edition of the Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) organized by the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS) is being held from 3rd to 6th October, 2023. This year’s programme is tagged “Globalization and Nuclear Security: Securing Chemical, Biological, Nuclear Facilities (CBRN) and Materials in the Face of Prevailing Threats”.

The Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) together with other organizations attended this year’s Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) 16. The training focused on proffering solutions to existing security threats, equip participants with adequate knowledge and skills needed to navigate and manage the threats.

NNRA has over the years, partnered with the Institute to ensure nuclear and radiological safety and security in the country by entrenching consistent implementation of international/national legal and regulatory framework for strengthening of national nuclear security regime.

The DG/CEO of NNRA, Dr. Yau Idris was ably represented by Mr. Adamu Abdul, Deputy General Manager, National Nuclear Security Coordination Centre (NNSCC) and the following papers were presented; “Securing Nuclear Facilities and Materials Through Comprehensive Legal Framework”, “Nuclear Security Contribution to Nigeria’s National Security”, “Nuclear Security Detection Architecture” and “Insider Threat Mitigation in the Nuclear Industry”.

Participants for the EIMC 16 were drawn from the Military, Paramilitary, Law Enforcement, Security, and other strategic MDAs as well as a participant each from Chad, Gambia, Niger and Rwanda.

In attendance during the opening ceremony were; Commandant of NISS; Alh. A.S Adeleke, Director Crisis Management Centre (CMC), National Headquarters Security Services (NHSS); Mr. Umar Abdullahi Yeldu, Mrs. Pamela West, representative of the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Mr. Patrick Eneji representing the President, Institute of Nuclear Materials Management (INMM) and Professor Sunday Jonah from the Centre for Energy Research and Training (CERT), ABU Zaria.
