NIRPR ORGANIZES TRAINING FOR RSO

The National Institute of Radiation Protection and Research (NIRPR), a technical support arm of the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) charged with the responsibility of providing services to its client through research and training in radiological protection and nuclear safety has recently organized a Virtual National Training Course for Radiation Safety Officers (RSO) in Diagnostic and Intervention Radiology.

The training was a routine in accordance with the organization’s statutory function which is to protect lives and the environment from the harmful effects of ionizing radiation. It aimed at exposing participants especially those in the medical field to radiation safety mechanism which will help mitigate radiological hazards in hospitals and laboratories.

The training captured lecture, practical sessions and examination as well as Cardinal Radiation Safety Dynamics which will keep patients and medical practitioners safe from dangers of exposure to X-rays and other types of radiation.

Fifty-Five participants drawn from different medical backgrounds were issued Certificates of Participation at the end of the training.
