The Management Staff of Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) hosted the National Coordinator/CEO of the National SERVICOM Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli on 26th January, 2022 at its Headquarters in Abuja. The visit was to prepare and facilitate the review of the NNRA’s Service Charter.
The DG/CEO NNRA Dr. Yau Idris while welcoming the SERVICOM National Coordinator and her team highlighted the activities of the NNRA as mandated by the Radiation Protection Act of 1995; which is primarily to ensure the safe application and security of radioactive materials thereby protecting the public and the environment from the harmful effect of ionizing radiation. He mentioned that the SERVICOM Unit of the Authority has in its capacity discharged her duties credibly in line with the objective of the National SERVICOM, rendering good service to the public at every opportunity.
Mrs. Akajemeli in her address appreciated NNRA’s Management visible support to its SERVICOM Unit and stated that quality of governance is determined by the quality of services delivered to citizens and the extent to which these services meet their needs and expectations.
Speaking further, she added that Public Service is the only contact most citizens have with the Government, therefore SERVICOM focuses on improving the quality of that contact by working together with Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to ensure effective service delivery.
She said the importance of NNRA services across numerous sectors in the Country cannot be overemphasized hence the need to review its service charter for better service delivery.
She then solicited for Management’s continual support to the Unit with adequate resources for the implementation of its work plan for the year for improved customer sensitivity and to ensure adequate publicity of the service charter and the unique services NNRA renders to the public.
Dr. Yau Idris reiterated Management’s commitment to give maximum support to the SERVICOM Unit to function optimally and ensure that all customers are served right.
The NNRA Charter review proper is slated to run from 27th-28th July, 2022.
