IBB UNIVERSITY COMPUTER SCIENCE STUDENTS VISITS NNRA ON EXCURSION.

The Students and lecturers of Computer Science Department of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU) Lapai, Niger state embarked on an excursion to the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority Headquarters, Abuja on 25^th February 2020.  

The team of a hundred (100) students and six (6) lecturers was led by the Head of Computer Science Department IBB University Mr. Ibrahim Abdullahi. The Team Lead stated that the purpose of the visit was to familiarize with the establishment, its responsibilities with regards to the use, applications and regulation of ionizing radiation in various sectors of the country. It was also aimed at collaborating with the Authority in the area of academia-industrial partnership.

During the visit, several presentations were made by staff of the NNRA on the legislation, functions and the regulatory activities of the NNRA, Regulatory Authority Information System (RAIS) and Electronic Authorization Management System (EAMS).

At the end of the visit, the Team Lead thanked the Authority for the warm reception accorded the students and lecturers stating that they were more aware of the Authority’s responsibilities and pledged to become good ambassadors of the NNRA.

In attendance was Dr. Nasiru Bello General Manager Nuclear Safety, Physical Protection and Safeguards who represented the Ag. Director General/CEO NNRA, Dr Nasiru Zakariya Deputy General Manager ICT Department and other staff of the Authority.
