GOVERNMENT APPROVES THE ENFORCEMENT POLICY AND PROCEDURE OF THE NIGERIAN NUCLEAR REGULATORY AUTHORITY

As part of measures to streamline the regulatory oversight of the NNRA in line with international best practices; especially on enforcement measures, the Honorable Minister of State – Petroleum Resources/Alternate Chairman of the NNRA Governing Board has approved its Enforcement Policy and Procedure Document for immediate implementation.

The enforcement Policy and Procedure Document is aimed at providing a platform for ensuring that enforcement actions are applied:

1. as a deterrent to emphasize the importance of compliance with regulatory requirements;
2. to encourage prompt identification and comprehensive correction of violations; and
3. To ensure consistent application of enforcement actions.
