DG NNRA REASSURES WiN-NIGERIA OF THE AUTHORITY’S CONTINUAL SUPPORT

The Interim Executives of Women in Nuclear-Nigeria (WiN-Nigeria) paid a courtesy visit to the DG/CEO NNRA on Thursday, 27th August, 2020 at the Headquarters in Abuja.

WiN-Nigeria with about 200 registered Nigerian members is a global network of women working in the nuclear industries throughout the world. WIN aims at promoting understanding and creating public awareness of the benefits, security and safety of nuclear and radiation applications through series of active networks.

The visit was a follow up on the previous one seeking for the Authority’s support for the upcoming formal launch of the WiN-Nigeria chapter scheduled to hold on September 30, 2020.

The Interim President of WiN-Nigeria, Ms. Chigoziri Oge Nwakama thanked the DG for always granting them audience whenever they call and for his fatherly disposition and goodwill towards WiN-Nigeria’s desire to achieve its goals and objectives. She said the visit is to update the DG of their plans and activities from the previous courtesy visit in February 2020. She pointed that at the last WiN Global Executive/Board meeting in April 2020, WiN-Nigeria was announced as a new country chapter and she then called for support especially on the upcoming formal launch of WiN-Nigeria Chapter.

In response, the DG/CEO Dr. Yau Idris commended the efforts of the Interim Executives in keeping the domestic WiN network active. He then reassures them of the Authority’s continual support in their vision to position Nigeria for the future of nuclear energy and technology through the advancement of women.
