DG/CEO NNRA CALLS FOR CONTINOUS DISCHARGE OF DUTIES AMIDST LOCKDOWN

The DG/CEO NNRA Dr. Yau Idris has called on the Zonal Coordinators and Operational Heads of the Organization to map out a schedule for inspections of facilities across the country even while on lockdown. He made this call during a virtual meeting between the Management, Zonal Coordinators and Operational Heads held on Tuesday 16^th June, 2020.

The DG while speaking said the pandemic situation should not deter the Organization from carrying out its function of ensuring nuclear safety and radiological protection especially in the area of inspection and compliance. He obliged them to assign inspectors to facilities in and around their localities to inspect practices and installations licensed or yet to be licensed by the Authority. He stressed that these assigned inspectors must cover at least two (2) states monthly stating that the Zonal and Operational Offices were created to enable the Authority carries out effective emplacement of the best regulatory control regime to the grassroot thereby ensuring the safety of the public from the effects of ionizing radiation

He enjoined everyone to continue to comply with the NCDC rules and guidelines for curbing the Covid-19 pandemic.

All the Zonal Coordinators and Operational Heads pledged to do as instructed.
