NNRA DG CHAIRS TODAY’S SESSION AT THE ONGOING INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON NUCLEAR AND RADIOLOGICAL EMERGENCIES: BUILDING THE FUTURE IN AN EVOLVING WORLD HOLDING IN RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA

The DG of NNRA Dr Yau Idris today is chairing Session 8A- Strategy for Establishing EPR Arrangements for Radiological Emergencies in Every Member State at the EPR2025 Conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This recognition by the organizers is not only for Nigeria but African nuclear safety, nuclear security and regulatory frameworks.

The international conference organized by the IAEA and the Saudi Arabia Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission (NRRC) is aimed at fostering exchange of information and enhance global awareness of crucial emergency preparedness and response topics.

The event will discuss advancements at national and international levels; addressing challenges and opportunities; sharing experiences; and evaluating current and future trends, innovative technologies and approaches and lessons from real-life events.

The conference with participants from about 100 countries is made up of senior level officials and technical experts in EPR.
