NNRA, MPR AND BPP HOLD ONE -DAY PROCUREMENT TRAINING/ INTERACTIVE SESSION IN ABUJA, May 2019.


A one day Procurement training/Interactive session has just been concluded in Abuja.

The training exercise had participants from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) and top management staff of the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA). Also in attendance were scheduled officers from Procurement, Administration & Finance and Budget.

Opening the interactive session, the Acting Director General/CEO Dr. Yau-Usman Idris said the training had become necessary in order to put in place an efficient procurement process in the NNRA and to also ensure smooth implementation of procurement processes in the Authority.

He said the training schedule is designed to go round all NNRA Zonal offices so as to train desk officers handling procurement and finance schedules. He urged all participants to make meaningful contributions and input during the training in order to achieve the objectives of the training.

The lead Facilitator, Mr. Dauda Ismaila, an assistant Director in the procurement unit of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources (MPR) said the objective of the training was for the Ministry to continue its support to the NNRA for it to henceforth adhered and carry out procurement/ implementation process in accordance with established public procurement act of 2007

The training templates included but not limited to:

-          Institutional regulatory framework

-          Government extant procurement circular/ rules & regulations

-          Procedure for procurement plans

-          Procurement cadre, functions and duties

-          Officers’ responsibilities and requirements

-          Report pattern in procurement process

-          Fundamentals and principles of procurement

-          Personnel qualifications

-          Objectives of sound procurement

-          Categories of procurement

-          Organization of procurement functions

-          Procurement Methods, Planning & Strategy

-          Responsibilities of Tender’s Board etc.
