A 3-DAY IN- HOUSE TRAINING COURSE ON THERMAL HYDRAULIC; 25TH – 27TH JUNE, 2019.

The Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) organises an in- house training course for its staff on thermal- hydraulics in the conference room of the NNRA Headquarters, Abuja. The training which is scheduled to hold from the 25th - 27th June, 2019 has about 20 staff nominated to attend.

The training is aimed at giving an overview of thermal hydraulics using the Paret code to postulate and simulate accident conditions as well as managing the accidents using NIRR-1 as a case study. It is also aimed at acquainting regulators with the recent conversion of highly enriched uranium (HEU) to Low enriched uranium (LEU) towards effective regulatory oversights.

The Acting DG/CEO of the NNRA, Dr. Yau Usman Idris in his opening remark asked participants to learn from the research expert urging them to be attentive as this will lead to practical growth as regulators and to the NNRA.

The Resource person Professor S. A Jonah, a nuclear physicist from the Centre for Research and Technology, Zaria (CERT) said he was pleased to be at the NNRA stating that the training would be generic in nature taking into cognisance their different levels of knowledge and background.
